Inviting users

Invitiations to join a JotSpot wiki can be sent via email.



How To Do It:


1. Enter the email address of the user you want to invite in the Invite people field in the sidebar and click the Invite button. (You can invite more than one person at a time by using a comma to separate email addresses.)

You'll see a confirmation when the invitation is successfully sent:

The invitation email will include a link to join your JotSpot wiki:

When users open the link, they are prompted to enter their name and password to accept the invitation to join:

Note: When users join the wiki through the Invite Users mechanism, their email address becomes their JotSpot user name.


Tell Me More:


If a user does not respond to an invitation within a certain period of time, the invitation will expire. Since a temporary account is created for the user when you send an invitation, you need to delete the user? account that corresponds to the user's email address before you can send a new invitation.

The Administrator of a wiki always has authority to invite new users. You are the Administrator of any wiki you have created in JotSpot.

If you are a registered user of a wiki, an Administrator may give you permission to invite new users. This is done the same way that any page permission to create new subpages is added. Each new user added generates a subpage from the _Admin page path.
