Really Simple Syndication is a technology that allows you to monitor changes to multiple pages in JotSpot. Say you wanted to keep track of changes to five different pages in JotSpot. Instead of going back to each of these pages individually, you can "subscribe" to an RSS "feed" of page changes and use a "feed reader" to monitor many different feeds in one place.

Security warning: We want to protect your data as much as you do. Because a login and password are generally required to access your wiki, you need to provide a password to your feed reader. JotSpot feeds use HTTP authentication. Each feed reader uses a different method of entering user name and passwords -- please consult your specific reader's documentation.

Some feed readers may require you to embed your username & password in the URL that you provide to your chosen feed reader. This is strongly discouraged. Since many feed readers make your feeds available to others using their software or don't support encryption of your data, embedding your private account information in the URL might inadvertantly provide access to your account by unauthorized persons.
