Using the WYSIWYG editor (features tour)
Topic: reference the major options for selecting fonts and styling text in your wiki pages.
Note: Switching between editing modes explains how to select the WYSIWYG editor. If it has been defined as your default editor in Preferences, JotSpot will always launch it as your default editor.
1. The WYSIWYG toolbar includes a wide range of options for styling text, defining lists and creating tables. This page will reference most of these features, with the exception of detailed table options? on the third row of the toolbar:
2. You can choose HTML-standard headlines (an alternate means to define font-size) from the pull-down menu:
Make your selection either before typing text or drag your mouse over text already entered and then choose - either to define or change current settings.
3. This reference will help you select different features to style your text:
Toggle WikiWord on/off Undo last action (Ctrl-Z) Redo last action (Ctrl-R) Add external webllink Add image Add horizontal line Makes text bold Makes text italic Underline text StrikethroughtextCreate unordered/bullet list Create ordered/numbered list Increase indent Decrease indent Change text color Change background color Align text to left margin Align text to center Align text to right margin Justify text
JotSpot has designed the WYSIWYG editor to make it as familiar as possible to those of you who use Microsoft Word or work-alike editors.
Due to a problem with FireFox, you cannot cut-copy-paste tables from the Edit menu; nor can you use the cut-copy-paste icons in the WYSIWYG toolbar. FireFox does this to protect users from inadvertently launching unprotected scripts within a browser page.
To cut-copy-paste a table, drag your mouse across the table; then select the keys from the keyboard that apply these operations in your operating system (for instance, Ctrl-X to delete, Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to insert). If you make a mistake, go back to an earlier version of your page, make it the current version and try again.
