Dear Fritz,
Thank you for your bug report. Based on our email exchange, this is a permissions problem. Our current permission model only allows increasing control (restriction) as you work down the hierarchy tree. Children pages can't have more privileges than their Parent pages. If you want to establish permission rules for a child page (PlatinumDeveloper), you must have the same rules for the parent page (WikiHome).
If you give user "platinum" the ability to edit and create new subpages from WikiHome and by extension the children of WikiHome, then this will work.
We are in the process of revising our permission model to allow for more openness as users work their way down the hierarchy of their JotSpot wiki.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I should provide any additional details or if I can offer further assistance.
Best regards, Jim
