Adding graphics to wiki pages

Files attached to a page are listed below the page content in the order they are attached. Image files attached to a page can be displayed on any page in the wiki, not just the page that they're attached to.

How To Do It:

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Browse button in the Attachments form to select the file you want to upload:

JotSpot does not restrict the types of files you can attach to a page--the types of image files that can be displayed on wiki pages depend on the browser being used. Commonly-supported image file types include .gif, .jpg, and .png.

2. Using the File Upload dialog, locate and select the image file on your local machine's hard drive and then click the Open button.

The selected file's path is displayed in the Attach a file field.

3. Click the Upload button to upload the selected file.

When the file is uploaded, it is added to the Attachments list:

You can click the name of an attachment (such as AttachGraphicsOne.png) to view or download it, depending on the file type and your browser preferences.

Once you've attached an image file, you can display it on any wiki page using the Insert/Modify Image command in the WYSIWYG editor or adding an HTML img tag in markup mode.

Tell Me More:

When you upload a file with the same name as an attachment that already exists, a new version of the file is created. By default, the most recent version of the file is displayed, but you can explicitly access any previous version. The current version number is displayed in the Attachments list:

While you will probably most often attach graphics to the pages where you inted to use them, you only have to upload and attach a file once to use it anywhere in your wiki--each attachment is simply stored as a page in the wiki. Since all pages under WikiHome share the same namespace, if you attached a file called mypic.png to one page, and then attached a different mypic.png file to another page, the second mypic.png file will become a new version of the original mypic.png file.

Deleting Attachments

To remove an attachment from a page:

1. Go to the Attachments list at the bottom of the page and click the Trash can icon beside the attachment you want to delete.

2. On the confirmation page, click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the specified file:
